When did America have God ?

Interesting read & worthwhile reflection .....

Perhaps I’m misreading , but in its attempt to perform due diligence , it suffers from a different kind of pandemic , the new pandemic of false equivalency.

2 equate the thinking & actions of Christian nationalism & trumpism with the thinking and behavior of “wokeism” is truly missing the mark.

“Wokeism”at its worst doesn’t storm capitals and pray in the senate chambers for God’s power & glory while yelling “hang Mike Pence” holding zip ties & carrying confederate flags.Wokeism is also not violently fearful of the changing demographics, at least not as far as 👁 can C.

Not advocating or anything , but there are clear & stark differences.

The author defines secularism and God narrowly , it equates concerns 4 equity , justice & the poor is merely secular concerns and “ being just as bad as going 2 far on the left as Christian nationalism and trumpism is on the right”.

This thinking is faulty and not part of my Messianic hope, and is ironically.. secular in scope.

Perhaps other faith traditions may feel the same.

“America without God”, is truly a worthwhile read , but it assumes the life giving beauty , redemption & love of God was synonymous at some point with the American contract.

It wasn’t.
